J.M. Long is an independent artist based in Portland, OR. His current sound is a tasteful blend of indie-pop rock with sophisticated rhythms & ear-grabbing melodies.
While he certainly draws inspiration from The Beatles, Radiohead, and Jeff Buckley, he always retains his own unique voice and enthusiasm for exploring brand new sounds in the process.
Currently, Long is promoting the release of his debut album “Forever Evergreen”, which was released on 13 May 2017. He performs regularly around Portland with his 5-piece band at venues such as McMenamin's White Eagle Saloon, Hawthorne Theatre, The Waypost, Blue Room, Twilight Bar & Cafe, & more.
Don't look through me like you've seen a ghost / there is so much more to me you don't care to know / And I want more than a mind that you keep closed / All you ever show is the surface of your soul” ( JML, Surface of Your Soul, 2017)

I don't make a habit of pouring my heart out /
I need to be accepted by you" ("Accepted")
"It's not my ego / It's my humanity /
I feel enlightened by your insanity" (Ego, Humanity)
"If I can take this blow to the head / then I can cheat death / I can cheat death / 'cause you cant break through my skin / Before it's peeled / I'm already healed / If I fail one hundred times / I'm not done / I'm not done / If I fail one hundred times / I'm not done / I'll get one hundred and one" (One Hundred and One)
